We offer customized climate adaptation models for municipalities, ski resorts, and infrastructure operators and provide comprehensive consulting.
GMD® develops intelligent, AI-powered sensor technologies and digital solutions for risk and hazard management in sensitive environmental and infrastructure areas.
GMD® GmbH is a partner of the flagship project of the State of Tyrol (DigiSchutz) for improved natural hazard prediction using artificial intelligence. This project is being developed in cooperation with the University of Innsbruck and MCI | The Entrepreneurial School.
Our goal is to establish precise data collection, innovative analysis methods, and smart early warning systems to detect risks at an early stage and provide data-driven decision-making tools for municipalities, infrastructure operators, and protection organizations. This enables optimal preparation for the physical challenges of climate change while enhancing the safety and resilience of critical infrastructure.
We rely on innovative technology, science, and interdisciplinary collaboration to develop sustainable, safe, and resilient solutions for the challenges of climate change and natural hazard management.
We are shaping the future of intelligent environmental monitoring and making natural hazards more manageable. As a leading provider of AI-driven monitoring and smart sensor technologies, we strive to develop autonomous, connected systems that revolutionize preventive protection measures.
Our vision is a world where precise data, innovative technology, and connected systems help protect people, infrastructure, and nature from risks—ensuring a safe, sustainable, and resilient future.
We support municipalities, ski resorts, and local communities in climate adaptation and biodiversity promotion.
We provide tailored consulting and risk analyses for natural hazard prevention and sustainable solutions. Using artificial intelligence and IoT sensors, we enhance the safety and resilience of critical infrastructure.
Monitoring of Critical Infrastructure and Water Bodies
We act as a data hub for analysis using machine learning.
Digitalization: Creation of digital twins of rock formations using state-of-the-art laser scanning technology to visualize hazard zones.
With AI-powered sensor technology and IoT solutions, we monitor water levels, landslides, and critical infrastructure in real time. All events are securely recorded in an incident database.
Our AI-powered platform analyzes sensor data in real time and sends alerts via SMS, push notification, email, or phone call.
Live warnings are ensured through our proprietary wireless network and web-based GIS.
We develop innovative, customized AI-based IoT and wireless data transmission systems for natural hazard prevention.
🗺 GIS-Risk Monitoring Platform (GeoSenseAI)
Our GIS risk webbased SaaS platform allows our clients to conduct precise hazard analyses. Various infrastructures can be integrated as digital twins and visualized using sensors.
🚀 Machine-Learning-Based Data Analysis
Using advanced AI algorithms and real-time data analysis, risks are detected automatically, and early warnings are issued.
✅ Increased Safety: Early warnings enable timely evacuations and protective measures.
✅ Infrastructure Protection: Reducing damage to buildings, roads, and bridges.
✅ Cost Efficiency: Avoiding high repair costs through preventative measures.
✅ Awareness & Trust: Strengthening public confidence in municipal administrations and safety measures.
🔴 Rockfalls & Landslides
Our radar-based IoT sensors detect the smallest movements in rock formations. Seismic sensors record vibrations to trigger early warnings.
🔵 Floods & Mudslides
Our radar-based water level and flow speed meters analyze stream inflows and rivers in real time, providing early warnings of floods or blockages.
🟢 Wildfire Detection
GMD utilizes smart temperature and humidity sensors that detect unusual heat development in forests and issue early warnings for wildfires.
🟡 Bark Beetle Monitoring
Our sensors analyze tree health and pest infestations using AI-powered data analysis and drone technology, allowing for early detection and intervention.
⚪ Avalanche Monitoring
Dynamic snow height sensors, inclination measurements, and temperature analysis help detect avalanche risks early. Our system can automatically calculate avalanche danger levels and provide digital warnings for ski resorts or roads.
How it Works
Our Process explained Step by Step.
1.
Planning and Offer
Based on our risk assessment platform GeoSenseAI we create a non-binding offer for the area to be monitored.
2.
On-Site Appointment
Creation of a digital twin of the monitoring area for precise risk assessment and optimal integration of deployed sensor technologies.
3.
Installation
Field installation is carried out based on the accessibility of the region: In easily accessible areas, we handle the installation ourselves, while in hard-to-reach locations, our partner, HTB Baugesellschaft m.b.H, is responsible.
4.
Alerting
Alerts are sent via SMS, email, or through our GeoSenseAI Platform, where you can access all relevant geodata, environmental data, as well as hazard and risk classifications in real time. Additionally, we offer an optional touchscreen for purchase, providing full system control and live camera feeds.
